Saga (Tibetan name Kyakyaru) is a small town in Western Tibet, where we stop when traveling from Shigatse, Everest, or Gyirong border to Mount Kailash and Manasarovar Lake region. The town doesn’t have any attraction sites on its own, however, we are traveling through beautiful landscapes to reach it and we often see wildlife in this region.

HOTELS IN SAGA

Being the main stop point for all travelers visiting Mount Kailash, Manasarvar Lake, and Guge Kingdom, Saga offers several accommodation options for travelers. In addition to hotels, you will find stores where you can get supplies for more remote areas and many small restaurants. This area is already very remote at a high altitude and scarce resources. In recent years hotel conditions have been improving, but still, most options are simple and more basic compared to Lhasa and Shigatse. With better hotels, you will pay a much higher price comparable to a 5-star hotel in Lhasa for more simple conditions. Since we usually only stop in Saga for one night, we typically reserve a more simple and competitively priced hotel.

NORLING HOTEL IN SAGA

THE GRAND HOTEL OF WESTERN POST
