We start our journey in Lhasa to acclimatize and explore the capital. After that we will drive to Old Thingri and start 60km trek. It runs through vast valleys, mountain streams and rivers, nomad settlements with a view on the highest mountain range on the planet.
Buddhism plays an important part in the lives of all Tibetans. That’s why most of the festivals in Tibet are religious. They are widely celebrated and visiting during one of the festivals is a great way to experience Tibetan culture. The main festivals are Losar - Tibetan New Year, Saga Dawa - the day of Buddha’s birth, enlightenment, and parinirvana, Shoton or yogurt festival, and Butter Lamp Festival.
